FAQ: How does Eager Dog pricing work?

Eager Dog keeps pricing simple and transparent for both competitors and clubs.

Summary

• The total fee is typically about 10% of the entry total

• This includes both the Eager Dog platform fee and Stripe payment processing

• Eager Dog’s portion is capped at $10 per transaction

• Stripe’s processing fee continues beyond that point because it is charged directly by Stripe

What does the fee include?

Each transaction includes two parts:

  1. Eager Dog platform fee

This supports the platform, development, hosting, support, and ongoing improvements.

  2. Stripe processing fee

This is the credit card processing fee charged by Stripe.

Both fees are displayed separately during checkout so competitors can see exactly how the total is calculated.

When does the $10 cap apply?

The $10 cap applies only to the Eager Dog platform portion of the fee, not the total transaction fee.

Once the Eager Dog portion reaches $10, it stops increasing even if the entry total continues to grow.

Stripe’s processing fee still applies because it is charged directly by Stripe.

Example transactions

A $40 entry

Total fees are usually around $4.

A $100 entry

Total fees are usually around $10.

A $150 entry

The Eager Dog platform fee is capped at $10, and Stripe processing fees continue to apply.

Do clubs pay anything to use Eager Dog?

No.

Clubs and secretaries do not pay any setup fees, subscription fees, or support fees to use Eager Dog.

Fees are only applied when competitors register for events.

Why are the platform and processing fees shown separately?

We show the fees separately so competitors can clearly see:

• what portion goes to Eager Dog

• what portion goes to Stripe for payment processing

This keeps pricing transparent with no hidden costs.
